This ensures the gasses flowing from any 1.5" ID manifold smoothly compress to the slightly smaller turbine housing. This avoids a step and prevents the forming of an eddy or reverberation for maximum flow and velocity into the turbine wheel. These flanges are great for any diy manifold fabrication project.
